Coventry is a lively city, with events throughout summer perfect for students from either Coventry University or the University of Warwick. We’ve listed just a few of the things going on around Coventry over the next few months, with events going on all year round!
Godiva Festival 5th -7th July 2019
Based in War Memorial Park, Godiva Festival is a three day long festival with a huge range of artists. With many TBA, currently confirmed performers include Busted, Feeder, Levellers and various local music and comedy acts. What makes it even better? Tickets are just £2 per person, per day! You can’t go wrong for £2!
Coombe Weekender – 3rd August – 4th August 2019
Providing a new musical build up to Coventry winning City of Culture for 2021, Coombe Weekender is as diverse as the City it is based in. Ranging from huge dance DJ’s MK and Sigala, to The Libertines and Circa Waves, Coombe Weekender has something for everyone.
Summer Screens – Outdoor Cinema – Various Dates
At Coventry Cathedral Ruins, across a variety of dates over summer, Summer Screens are screening a variety of films outdoors! Films such as Harry Potter, Bohemian Rhapsody, A Star is Born and more will all be shown across summer!
Coventry Cathedral hosts events in the city throughout the year!
Coventry Preloved Vintage Kilo – June 22nd 2019
With entry at £1.50 all day, you could pick up a kilo of bargains at Preloved Kilo, being set up at Coventry Cathedral. This event happens throughout the year too, and isn’t exclusive to summer!
Festival of the Dead: Coventry – September 28th 2019
After a sell-out tour across the UK in 2018, Festival of the Dead returns to Kasbah nightclub in Coventry in 2019 with a unique combination of carnival, circus and clubbing inspired by the Day of the Dead. Conveniently, Kasbah nightclub is just around the corner from your student accommodation, so don’t miss it. They host a huge range of themed parties and events throughout the year!
Curious About Coventry? – July 3rd – July 31st 2019
Every day in July, you can explore, discover & enjoy Coventry with two variations of heritage walks with an optional treasure hunt! Is this going to be your first year in Coventry? Get to know your new city better by doing activities in the fresh air!
Festival of the Dead returns to Kasbah nightclub in Coventry
A little further, but under an hour!
Jump on the train to our neighbours in Birmingham or a short drive away down to Warwick, and you can find yet more exciting events this summer! With a 16-25 Railcard, you can get the train to Birmingham for just £2.50.
Pub in the park – July 5th to July 7th 2019
Head over to Warwick for Pub in the Park, featuring Tom Odell, Scouting for Girls and Razorlight! A delicious selection of the nation’s greatest pubs will be serving their best work too, combining the delights of both food and music.
MADE Festival – Saturday 27th July 2019
Just down the road, is Birmingham’s fairly new MADE festival, bringing a huge and diverse line-up to the city. With the yearly increase of huge acts, expect this festival to continue to get bigger and bigger each year!
Some huge acts and names are heading to Warwickshire this summer!
The Big Feastival – 23rd – 25th August 2019
Based in an official area of outstanding beauty, the Big Feastival is based in the Cotswolds literally has something for everyone. With Dick and Dom hosting, celebrity chefs that include Issac Carew and Prue Leith, and music from Lewis Capaldi, Elbow, Rudimental, Jess Glynne and Jonas Blue, The Big Feastival covers every base.
Bingo Lingo – Various Dates
The bingo rave that’s summer series is coming to Birmingham. Very similar to Bongo’s Bingo, (also going on over summer!), you and your friends can play bingo to win prizes, with a twist!
