Living on Lower Ford Street places you within similar walking distance to, arguably, the city’s best student bar. The Phoenix is a bustling hub where you’ll meet likeminded people. They offer drink and food deals in the week, host quizzes, and provide coverage of all the biggest sporting events. Canterbury Street is but a 2-minute walk away from Lower Ford Street. This puts you within a similar walking distance to many of the attractions previously outlined. If you choose to rent a property on Canterbury Street you will be 300 yards away from Victoria Street which houses a number of take away restaurants as well as shops and a post office.
Furthermore, it provides you with a centrally located base for you and your friends to walk to The Kasbah, which is somewhat of a Coventry institution and has been a mecca for students for a number of years. As well as themed and student nights The Kasbah provides a platform for some of the biggest local and regional music talent. If you like attending shows perhaps a property within walking distance of the city’s biggest venue would be suitable.
St George’s Road
St George’s Road is located on the periphery of the city center in an area known as Stoke Aldermoor. Though you’re outside of the bustle of the centre it is only a stones throw away. Stoke Aldermoor is a fantastic residential area which provides a solid base for exploring the city.
Pubs, shops, restaurants, parks are in abundance. Most excitingly however is how close you would be from Far Gosford Street. Far Gosford Street is a vibrant hub outside of the centre lined with barbershops, pubs, restaurants and Fargo Village.
Built a number of years ago at the top of Far Gosford Street, Fargo Village is a perfect hangout for you and your friends. Businesses have been built into shipping containers at Fargo and it is home to a fantastic coffee shop and cosy micro pub. The Box at Fargo is an industrial sized space which has seen its fair share of exciting events; Digbeth Dining Club and local house event Ghost Town to name a few. All of this is within an 8-minute walk from your home and leads us to believe that St George’s Road is a solid contender.
Just like St George’s Road Willowbank Mews rests on the outskirts of Coventry’s city centre. If being within close proximity to the university campus is important then the proceeding choices may be more suitable. Though Willowbank is slightly further afield its charm and charisma make it a viable contender.
Willowbank Mews is a unique choice in that it offers a more exclusive experience. Willowbank is an isolated area just a short walk from the city centre which houses large new and modern properties.
